Getting Started

On a local level, masters races are open to racers 18 years of age or older, with appropriate eligibility according to USSA rules. A USSA alpine masters membership is required. Some divisions have local memberships as well.  You can apply for or renew your masters competition license through our online registration system.

New participants may take advantage of the temporary weekend membership, limited to one weekend per participant per season.  The cost of a temporary weekend membership will be applied to a full masters membership when purchased, so it's a great way to have your first Masters racing experience.

Ski equipment of suitable condition for racing is requisite to race masters - appropriate equipment for the competition discipline is necessary for safety as well as fun.  Helmets are required for all disciplines.

The many benefits of your USSA alpine masters license include: competition in USSA Masters races, an annual USSA Alpine Masters Competition Guide with rules, schedules and entry information, local and national newsletters, and a digital subscription to Ski Racing magazine. For more information, contact USSA, or your local division.
