USSA Sport Education Welcomes Ron Kipp

The USSA is pleased to announce the hire of Ron Kipp to the position of Alpine Sport Education Manager, replacing Jon Nolting who has been promoted to Director of Sport Education.  Ron has a vast and diverse background in ski coaching education, having worked previously with both USSA and PSIA in their education departments.  Since 2005, Ron has served as Alpine Educational Manager for the Intermountain Division of PSIA, while also working with the Norwegian Men's Alpine World Cup team in coaching and sport science.  He's done an immense amount of research in the field of ski racing and authored numerous articles and papers published nationally and internationally.  He is excited to return to USSA Education to broaden the alpine education curriculum, bringing in the principles of long-term athlete development as outlined in the USSA Alpine Training System.  His background is ideally suited to develop the technical skill fundamentals tools and progressions coaches are looking for, as well as applying cutting-edge research and advances at the elite levels to renew a focus on education for upper level coaches through coaches academies proposed for this fall and next spring.

"I am very excited with this new opportunity," Kipp commented.  "The potential that the USSA has is limitless. With the infrastructure and staff here at the Center of Excellence we have the possibility to create the best educated coaches in the world. These coaches in turn will develop the best athletes in the world."
