Center of Excellence Fact Sheet

The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association's Center of Excellence is an historical achievement for Olympic sports in America! The Center of Excellence is a national training and education facility providing world-class training facilities and serving as an educational resource for the USSA's athletes, coaches, officials, clubs, parents, volunteers and other stakeholders nationwide. The national center is designed to bring the sport together as a Team and will be an international showcase for American skiing and snowboarding. It is the most significant project for athletes in the USSA's more than century-old history.

  • Key training link with 2002 Olympic venues of Utah Olympic Park, Soldier Hollow and Utah ski and snowboarding resorts
  • Center to host career and character development programs for athletes and other stakeholders, as well as a personal education center for athletes, providing for their future after their athletic careers
  • Central hub for education of USSA’s 400-plus grassroots clubs nationwide and athletes, coaches, officials, parents, volunteers and other stakeholders
  • Center for expanding sponsor relationships, cultivating fundraising and developing opportunities for value enhancement for athletes and stakeholders

  • Situated on five acres of land adjacent to the Sports Field Complex at Quinn's Junction (intersection of Utah State Highway 248 and U.S. 40)

  • "Walk of Fame" entryway greeting athletes and visitors with photography, video and memorabilia honoring champions for athletic achievement, as well as stakeholders for service to athletes
  • Unrivaled gymnasium, weight room, Erich Sailer Cardio Center providing critical elements of dryland training and conditioning, with images of Olympic champions proudly displayed on its walls
  • Hoff Family Nutrition Center to deliver hands-on nutrition education to athletic programs as well as service during intensive workouts and camps
  • Ramps and tramps area providing training uniquely designed for the USSA's action sports especially freestyle and snowboarding
  • Jackson Sport Science Center for high-tech physiological research and analysis
  • Recovery and Rehab Center featuring whirlpools, hot and cold plunges, steam and sauna for full workout recovery and injury rehab
  • Borgen Swartz Education Resource Center featuring high-performance video analysis and an auditorium for multimedia presentations, plus distribution hub to provide education to the USSA's grassroots clubs nationwide
  • Jacolyn and John Bucksbaum Education Center to support scholarship and educational needs of athletes
